At the beginning of the 20th century, British geographer and Oxford University professor Halford Mackinder presented the concept of the Heartland at the Royal Geographical Society.
In Mackinder’s understanding, the Heartland (or “The Geographical Pivot of History”) is a vast part of Eurasia, located in present-day Kazakhstan, Russia, and the countries of Central Asia, which plays a crucial role in shaping global affairs and geopolitical processes.
In today’s world, it is hard to overestimate the importance of this region, which serves as a bridge between Europe and Asia and possesses enormous economic potential.
That is why the activities of the Heartland expert-analytical center are focused on conducting research on a wide range of issues related to geopolitics, international economics, and ecology in order to develop an objective understanding of the events unfolding in this region.
We are ready to assist in the preparation of analytical materials and forecasts, organize and host public events (seminars, round tables, etc.), and publish articles on relevant topics on our website.
The center collaborates with representatives of both domestic and foreign expert communities, as well as promising young researchers and journalists.
We are always open to cooperation!
